About Quartz Hill Church of Christ
What to expect when you visit us
We worship God through singing songs (a capella), prayer, reading scripture, and hearing a message from the Bible. We take communion each Sunday to remember and commemorate Jesus’ sacrifice. Visitors are welcome to participate in communion. We also take up a voluntary collection to support the works and missions of the church. Guests are not expected to contribute. Midway through the morning service, children are dismissed to participate in our children’s worship service.
The Son Light Coffeehouse is open weekly on Sunday from 9:00- 9:45 am and 8:30 -11:30 am on the 1st & 3rd Saturdays of the month.

Youth Ministry
As with our Children's ministry, our youth ( Middle School - High School) are involved in Sunday morning and Wednesday evening Bible Studies with dedicated teachers from within the church congregation.

Children's Ministry
The children of the Quartz Hill church of Christ are a vital and loved part of our congregation. The children (Cradle Roll - 5 th grade) have the opportunity to learn from lessons about the Bible through Sunday Morning Bible Study and Wednesday evening Bible Study. Shawn Lawhon
Minister
Shawn graduated from California State University, Bakersfield with a Master's Degree in Modern European and American History. He is full-time high school history teacher and has taught history at the community college level. Shawn has been the part-time minster since 2022 and is a third-generation minister of the Churches of Christ.
